ARDÈCHE - PROVENCE - CAMARGUE Bike Tour (01-06 September 2026)

Summary

ARDÈCHE - PROVENCE - CAMARGUE    7 days, 6 nights

Montélimar  ↠  Vallon-Pont-d´Arc  ↠  Châteauneuf-du-Pape  ↠  Arles

↠  Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer  ↠  Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône  ↠  Marseille Provence Airport

440 km in 6 days, an average of 73 km per day, with a modest 540m of elevation gain on each of the first two stages, then flat terrain until the end : easy, right ?! All you have to do is enjoy the magnificent and varied scenery throughout this cycling tour !

Apart from the very beginning in the Drôme region on the cycle path along the Rhône, the first two stages are in the Ardèche. The first day runs from east to west along small roads that gently climb through the forest before crossing the verdant Ardèche plateau. The second day runs from west to east via the famous Pont d'Arc and the sublime Ardèche Gorges, with some challenging climbs followed by beautiful descents before reaching the Rhône. From there, the route follows the cycle path to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where a wine tasting is a must as a reward ! The third stage follows the cycle path along the Rhône, through lavender fields and unmissable medieval cities (Avignon, Tarascon, Arles). Stages 4 and 5 cross the beautiful and wild Camargue, through the marshes on the first day and along the coast on the second, finishing on the iconic Napoléon beach. The final stage around the Berre pond is also beautiful, with a few short climbs to finish in style !

Good physical preparation is required, but more due to the length of the stages than the elevation gain. The landscapes are as magnificent as they are varied from beginning to end, and the premium accommodations in manor houses, Provençal farmhouses, and waterfront hotels offer an ideal setting to relax after a long day, enjoy a local wine, and savor the many regional culinary specialties. You've earned it !

Tempting, isn't it ? Don't hesitate any longer, sign up !
